Kristi and I were able to take a whirlwind trip out West this summer. It was a wonderful vacation! We flew to Los Angeles and rented a Nissan Murano and drove north up the California Coast. From there we continued up the Pacific Coast through Oregon and into Washington State. I have become a volcano freak over the years so I had always wanted to go to Mount St. Helens. Well as my luck goes it was cloudy and rainy when we got there so I could not see her. I will return though. We got the same reception from Mount Rainier. Fogged in! I did, however, get to play in snow up at the Paradise level of the mountain. This national park has been hit extra hard the past two weeks with rain and snow. A lot of damage has been done (see pictures at the Mt. Rainier website). If you ever get the chance to go to the Pacific Northwest, GO!! After Rainier we headed east through Idaho and Montana, to Wyoming and Yellowstone National Park. It was breath taking, to say the least. If we were not pressed for time, and in a little better shape, we would have love to go into the interior of the park. After Yellowstone we headed south to Colorado. We spent two days in the Colorado Springs area, and two days in the Denver area. Kristi got to see the Body Worlds exhibit in Denver. She is the scientist....I wanted to throw up. After 15 days on the road, we flew out of Denver for good ole ATL! I was glad to get back home. The links below will take you to pictures from the areas listed. I bought a new camera for this trip. I am still trying to learn how to use it. If Aaron Huddlestun reads this, I need some help with my camera!!!
